POSITION PURPOSE

Internships at CASE Credit Union offer hands-on experience with an opportunity to learn leadership skills and the fundamentals of banking. The internship experience includes a 12 week assignment that provides insight into banking processes and how they interrelate and impact the member and the organization. As an intern, you will meet with and shadow leaders and experienced team members who can offer insights to help you develop a strong understand the financial services industry. CASE Credit Union provides exceptional customer service to our community and assists members in becoming better financial consumers with multiple locations throughout the greater Lansing area. This intern assignment will focus on marketing CASE products and services to our community through various social media platforms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
 
  1. Develops leadership skills through observation, guidance and training
  2. Learn to navigate through credit union systems
  3. Become familiar with credit union products/services
  4. Understand social media platforms and promote CASE Credit Union
  5. Complete various projects and duties with intent to meet or exceed expectations

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
 
  1. Regular One on One meetings with Credit Union leaders
  2. Good working relations and communications with Credit Union management and staff.
  3. Strong marketing communication to community members.
  4. Ability to inform community about the credit union.
  5. Management is appropriately informed.
  6. Ability to remain flexible in assignments and tasks assigned
  7. Develop a final report on observations and knowledge gained on leadership skills and credit union operations.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:      Enrolled at Lansing Community College.
                                                                        Pursuing Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or other business related field.
                                                Have completed three semester credit hours in core business related courses
                                                     
Required Knowledge:           Basic business knowledge
                                                                Strong knowledge of social media platforms
                                                Knowledge of marketing to
                                                               
                                                               
Experience preferred:        Prior experience in a financial environment preferred
                                                                Prior social media marketing experience preferred
                                     Prior experience in a leadership role preferred

Skills/Abilities:                      Strong interpersonal and communication skills
                                                Strong customer service skills
                                                Willingness to learn
                                                Ability to develop social media marketing campaigns
                                                Project management skills and well organized
                                                Solid problem solving and analytical skills
                                                      Able to use computer and basic business equipment

                                                Able to work well independently 


INTENT AND FUNCTION OF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
